Rufous Headed Hornbill is a new addition to the Tropical Bird series. Very consistent form with pinching on the petals and various twisting and curling on the sepals. A delightful addition to anyones daylily garden. R.H.H. is a very nice smoky maroon-violet, with a golden-yellow throat and midribs to match. The things that really set R.H.H. apart is that it is a Late - very-late bloomer with radical 4 way branching and 40 plus buds per scape. It is a tremendous bud builder as well blooming here well into fall. R.H.H. will fill that niche needed in the late season garden with a huge splash of color when most all other daylilies have long since stopped blooming. Nocturnal, Extended, and non fragrant.
