Every once in a while in a hybridizers career a plant comes along that produces a bloom that will stop you dead in your tracks. The plant that produced the bloom that did this for me is Purple Eclipse.From the first time I saw it bloom I knew it was destined to be a winner. The bloom on P.E. is of the richest, deep, velvety-purple with an overlay of a blue sheen. All segments on P.E. have a very striking white edge that give it that eclipse look.Very limited. 3 way branching and 18 buds is conservative but with extra bracts on the scapes I feel that P.E. has the ability to display better B&B.
