Named for a mythological, sphinx-like creature said to inhabit Indian jungles. ‘Manticore’ makes a huge impact in the garden displaying its 8.5 inch flowers on 50 inch tall scapes. The twisting cascade blooms are a gorgeous polychrome of violet, lavender, and purple with a mascara edged watermark on the petals and lighter picotee. ‘Manticore’ is related to ‘Triune Being’ and to ‘Apophis’ through a Lambert seedling in the pollen parent.
